Este miércoles, se comunicó el fallecimiento del Max Sieguel, vocalista y guitarrista de una de las bandas más potentes del rock chileno de los 90: Los Morton.
La noticia fue informada por Toño Corvalán, baterista de Chancho en Piedra, con quien compartió en incontables escenarios en estos años y que también formó parte de Los Morton.

Siegel fue convocado por Armando Peleo Figueroa en 1990 para formar Los Morton, impulsados por su gusto por las guitarras ruidosas y el groove del funk. Tras una serie de exitosas presentaciones en el under capitalino, se unieron Keko Gutiérrez y Cristián Araya a la formación, dando forma al periodo más emblemático del grupo.
En este periodo, la banda destacó con discos como su debut Santo Remedio (con alta rotación gracias al single “Estamos solos”) y Cebator Quat’s.
En 1998 la banda se desintegró por planes personales de sus integrantes: Siegel se radicó en Israel y Figueroa a Estados Unidos. En el 2009 volvieron a tocar juntos en un evento que contó también con Chancho en Piedra y La Floripondio, oportunidad en la que celebraron los 20 años de Los Morton.
