El próximo domingo 4 de marzo, se realizará la ceremonia que celebra los 90 años de los Premios de la Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas: los Premios Oscar. Una vez más, Jimmy Kimmel será el encargado de animar una ocasión que ya se vislumbra como histórica.
“The Shape of Water”, la película de Guillermo del Toro, acumuló 13 nominaciones, la mayor cantidad para una sola producción este año. Le siguen “Dunkirk” con ocho nominaciones y una de las favoritas de la crítica, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”, con siete nominaciones.
Por su parte, “Darkest Hour” y “Phantom Thread” empatan con seis nominaciones, siendo esta última la despedida de la actuación para Daniel Day Lewis. “Blade Runner 2049” y “Lady Bird” alcanzaron las cinco nominaciones.
Sin embargo, estos Oscars será especialmente cercanos a Chile, luego de que “Una Mujer Fantástica” consiguiera una nominación como “Mejor Película Extranjera”, convirtiéndose en la segunda cinta chilena en competir en dicha categoría.
